My Story

I'll be honest—recruitment was never part of the plan.

As a kid, I dreamed of living in New York, starring on Broadway, winning a Tony Award, and becoming best friends with Barbra Streisand. But life, as it often does, had other ideas. By happy accident, I landed a role in recruitment back in the early 80’s and found my ‘home’!

Over the years, I’ve worked across nearly every industry you can imagine; manufacturing, logistics, professional services, utilities—you name it. And what I’ve learned is this: the principles of great recruitment don’t change, but how you deliver results absolutely does.

For me, it’s always been about service. Building strong relationships with both clients and candidates matters most. I believe in getting to know people before they need me. Because when a critical role opens up or you're ready for your next big move, the last thing you want is to start from scratch with someone who doesn’t “get” you. If we’re not the right fit, it’s better to know that now—not when the pressure’s on.

That philosophy has guided me for more than 40 years and has helped me build lasting, successful partnerships across the UK and now in the U.S. as the Founder & CEO of CNA International USA. (So at least one part of the dream came true—I made it to New York.)
